Calhoun I

The Calhoun School is a Progressive Education, Private School in NYC. It is a co-educational independent school on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. They invited me to read to 5 different classes in the Lower School on West 74th Street. Each class already had my story books and their new library bought some too.

TAKE A GOOD LOOK AT THESE EAGER FACES. . .

We sang songs, the kids asked lots of questions and a few are future authors! Calhoun’s headmaster, Steve Nelson firmly believes “that librarians and parents must engage in a partnership to bring the power of books and imagination to children. Children and parents trust librarians to open the doors of wonder to them, to make perfect recommendations, and to be allies in the support of beautiful books." He said that he believes my books are precisely what librarians and parents hope to find.

It was an easy going afternoon because the students showed great interest in my story books.
